What is included in a managed construction time lapse service?

A managed service can cover the complete project: consultation, a free site survey where required, professional installation, remote monitoring, secure image storage, client portal access, progress videos, final editing and de-installation. See our construction time lapse service and the full Time Lapse UK process.

How much does construction time lapse cost?

Cost depends on project duration, the number of cameras, location, access, mounting method, power and the required video deliverables. Long-term systems can work out from around £16 per day. You can use Plan Your Time Lapse to consider likely viewpoints, or contact our team for a project-specific quotation.

Can I monitor the construction site remotely?

Yes. Our secure client portals provide 24/7 access to project imagery on desktop, tablet and mobile. Depending on the project, you can navigate by date, zoom into high-resolution images, compare stages of the build and download photographs for reports, presentations and marketing.

Can time lapse cameras work without mains electricity?

Yes. Many outdoor installations can use solar power with battery storage, making them suitable for enabling works, demolition and sites where a permanent supply is unavailable. Our time lapse camera systems page explains the 4G, solar and weather-resistant technology used for long-term projects.

Do you install time lapse cameras throughout the UK?

Yes. We survey, install, monitor and support systems nationwide for individual developments and multi-site programmes. Our construction time lapse service is designed for projects across the UK, and the installation process explains how we plan attendance on active construction sites.

What is the difference between short-term and long-term time lapse?

Long-term systems are normally installed for several months or years to record an entire construction programme. Short-term time lapse is better suited to fast works such as fit-outs, installations, refurbishments, events and demolition phases lasting from a day to a few weeks. Both can include professional installation, monitoring and an edited final video.

How do you decide where the cameras should be positioned?

We consider the construction sequence, final building height, likely obstructions, available structures, sun direction, access, power and the story you want the finished film to tell. Our Plan Your Time Lapse tool can help visualise possible viewpoints before the survey, while our managed process covers the formal survey and installation planning.

Can you use more than one camera on the same project?

Yes. Larger developments often benefit from multiple viewpoints, particularly where one position cannot capture the full site or where internal and external works need to be recorded at the same time. Multiple cameras can be brought together through the same client portal and used to create a more varied final film.

What do we receive when the project is finished?

At completion we can provide a professionally edited time lapse film, high-resolution still images and versions prepared for websites, presentations and social media. Branding, titles and additional footage can also be incorporated. See examples in our time lapse gallery or explore complementary filming and photography.

Can drone footage or 360° imagery be combined with the time lapse?

Yes. Fixed-camera time lapse can be combined with aerial footage, scheduled ground filming and interactive site imagery to give stakeholders more context. Explore our aerial photography, construction filming and photography and 360° site tours.

How do you manage installation safely on an active construction site?

Camera installation is planned as a professional site activity. We consider access, work at height, exclusion zones, interaction with other trades and the proposed mounting method before attendance. Our technicians hold relevant industry training including ECS and IPAF, and you can read more about our approach to RAMS and safe delivery on the Time Lapse UK process page.

Can project teams download high-resolution images?

Yes. Authorised users can access high-resolution project images for reports, meetings, press releases and marketing through the online client portal. The portal also provides a searchable visual archive so teams can revisit specific dates during the programme.

How do I get started?

Send us the site location, approximate programme, proposed start date and what you would like to capture. Plans, elevations or photographs are helpful but not essential for an initial discussion. You can contact Time Lapse UK directly or start by using Plan Your Time Lapse.
